What makes us happy? And can we be happy more of the time?

What lies behind being happy? Is it always getting what we want? Or is it a case of living life by a set of values that work for us and the people around us?

The problem is, while the concept of being happy appears straightforward at first (since most of us know when we are happy and when we are not) an analysis of being happy takes us into questions of values such as Integrity, Justice, Wisdom, Respect, Courage, Responsibility.

To help students understand and relate to such concepts we have devised a series of Values posters. Included with them are examples of the behaviours that these values represent.
